On 11 December 2025, 5:30 pm, KiS - Kunst in Seefeld invites you to the vernissage of the exhibition „Still-Leben“ by Michael Ziegler. At the centre of the show is a recurring motif of the Austrian painter: delicate, almost translucent flowers, arranged in a glass or vase, captured with watercolours on paper. In 2020, these pictures gave him a new approach to painting after a long break. Since then, he has returned to the subject and technique again and again. The result is an ongoing series that has now grown to several dozen paintings. Starting from „almost simple compositions“ (Ziegler) in bright, matt colours, the painter lends his flower paintings both proximity and distance, intensity and fleetingness. Complemented by examples from other Ziegler painting cycles, they unfold their effect at KiS - Kunst in Seefeld in the interplay of light and weightlessness, sketchiness and fragility - a „sensual event“ for both the painter and the viewer.
