A love of experimentation, of working with wood, modelling clay or pottery, of building, drawing and painting – all of this is evident in the works of the German artist Thomas Schütte. He creates larger-than-life bronze figures, shapes abstract ceramic vessels and produces watercolours of people, animals and flowers. KiS – Kunst in Seefeld is focusing its 2026 summer exhibition on the architectural structures in Thomas Schütte’s work. Vibrantly coloured, clearly constructed woodcuts and model houses such as the „Holiday Homes for Terrorists“ take centre stage in the exhibition. One of these small-scale architectural works, created as a reflection on 9/11 – the „Holiday Home T.“ – has been erected on a 1:1 scale in Mösern: as a „walk-in sculpture“ that can also be visited during guided tours as part of the exhibition.
