“Flowers are ... bouquets for prayers, gardens of cherished devotion.” Eric Fischl calls his text contribution for this catalogue Lyrik der Reue. And in his poetic text, the artist himself speaks of the “image of the flower” as a “placeholder for the light and the dark, inexpressible and concrete”.
